This date has been very favorable, albeit in only eight games. There has only been one game since 1923, a 3-2 win over the Blue Jays in 2001. CC Sabathia started the season finale against Brandon Lyon. The Jays plated one in the second on a Chris Latham walk, stolen base and Felipe Lopez single. Russell Branyan tied it with a solo shot in the fifth. They also took the lead that inning on a Milton Bradley double and Eddie Taubensee single. The Tribe got an insurance run in the eighth. Jolbert Cabrera was safe on a Homer Bush error, taking second. He later stole third and scored on a Karim Garcia fly ball. Jake Westbrook took over for Sabathia in the sixth. The Jays got one back in the eighth off him on three singles by Cesar Itzuris, Vernon Wells and Bush. Rich Rodriguez got the final out in the eighth and John Rocker got the save in the ninth after a single and a walk.

The Tribe has only four games on this date, a doubleheader split in 1904 against the Tigers, a 2-0 shutout of the Browns in 1910 and a 10-4 loss to the White Sox in 1911. They have never played a home game this late in the regular season.

The last date on the regular season menu was a doubleheader back in 1910 against the St. Louis Browns. They lost the opener 5-4, but shut them out 3-0 in the nightcap.
