You could see this coming after Gomez had yet another short outing in his last start. Huff's two very good relief appearances have gotten him some starts before the end of the season, so he'll have one last chance to audition for a spot on the 40-man roster this winter.

Cabrera will visit the Cleveland Clinic today to have his right wrist looked at. If he's shut down for the season, we'd probably be seeing a rotation of Brent Lillibridge and Jason Donald. Cord Phelps has played shortstop in the past, but he was a full-time second baseman in Columbus this season. This would be a good opportunity to give Juan Diaz some at-bats, but I'm not sure if he's available.
No-hitters from unlikely pitchers
THT's Gregory Wolf looks at unlikely no-hitters, based on this criteria:
To make the list, the pitcher must have a career ERA+ of 100 or less, have a losing career record (or no more than five games above .500) and never been named to an All-Star team or received votes for the Cy Young Award. Because more than 10 pitchers fulfilled all of these criteria, the last criteria were subjective: The pitcher could not have been considered a staff ace, consistently pitched 200+ innings and won 10+ games per year, or had an unusually successful year in the context of his career.
One Indian made the list: Don Black threw a no-hitter in 1947, but he had a career ERA+ of 80.
