Columbus 7, Toledo 4
The Indians beat the Tigers last night in AAA as well. David Huff was all right, allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Scott Barnes pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, and Frank Herrmann, who seems to have taken over the closer's spot, finished things up for the save. Ezequiel Carrera went 2-for-5 with his 5th home run, and Matt LaPorta went 2-for-4 with a walk; perhaps he's breaking out of his recent slump.
Akron 4, Erie 2
Another Tigers affiliate defeated tonight. Matt Packer looked good, going 7.1 innings and allowing just 2 runs. Juan Diaz added a triple, and Davis Stoneburner a double.
Lake County was off.
