Columbus was rained out

Richmond 6, Akron 0
Akron was shut out on 6 hits, all of them singles. Geovanni Soto allowed three runs (2 earned) in 5 innings, walking 5 and allowing 6 hits.

Carolina 8, Potomac 3
Francisco Jimenez allowed just 1 run in 6 innings of work, and the Mudcats scored 8 runs despite collecting one extra-base hit. Tyler Holt led the offense with a 3-for-4 night with a walk. Anthony Gallas also had three hits.

Fort Wayne 4, Lake County 0 (6 Innings)
Rain shortened yesterday's game, with the Captains getting shut out on just 2 hits. Shawn Morimando allowed four runs (3 runs), with three of them coming in the last inning of the game.

Mahoning Valley 9, Williamsport 1
Tyler Naquin went 3-for-4 with a double and a walk in the blowout victory. Joseph Wendle (6th round, 2012) also went 3-for-4 with a double. Ryan Merritt (16th round, 2011) pitched six scoreless innings.

AZL Indians 14, AZL Reds 9
Not a lot of pitching in this game. The AZL Tribe pounded out 13 hits, 5 of which were for extra-base hits. Jorge Martinez hit two home runs, and went 4-for-6 on the game. 2012 is Martinez's third season in the Arizona League, and the 19-year-old infielder probably is destined for a promotion to Mahoning Valley before too long; going into this game, he was hitting .429/.474/.629 in 38 Plate Appearances.
