Acta giving Asdrubal chance to work out of slump | News

For now, Asdrubal Cabrera will remain near the top of the order. As for giving him a day off, that's going to be difficult because there really isn't a backup shortstop on the club right now. Jack Hannahan is currently the backup, and can probably do all right given his range at third, but he hasn't started a game at shortstop in the majors. And then there's the fact that Hannahan actually looks worse than Cabrera at the plate right now.

Mentioned in Pluto's notes is that Trevor Crowe has signed a minor-league deal with the Angels.
