He'll be out 8-10 weeks, a similar schedule as Lonnie Chisenhall, which means that like Chisenhall, he likely won't be back this year. The next step is to figure out whether he'll spend that time on the major-league Disabled List or the minor-league Disqualified List.

At the end of Pluto's column, he noted that the Indians and Padres have talked about trade that would send Carlos Quentin to the Indians, but that the two teams are far apart. It isn't exactly shocking that the Indians have enquired about right-handed power bat who happens to play on one of the worst teams in baseball, and neither is it shocking that the two clubs aren't that close to making a deal; there's still several weeks until the trading deadline, and unless the Padres or Indians absolutely loves the other's offer, there's no reason to pull the trigger now.
