Minor League Recap: June 25, 2012

Columbus 7, Lehigh Valley 3
Corey Kluber went 7.1 innings, allowing three runs on 6 strikeouts. Russ Canzler hit another home run, part of a 2--for-3 night.

Altoona 13, Akron 8
This is the second time this series the Aeros have given up 13 runs to the Curve. T.J. House (5 ER), Tyler Sturdevant (3 R - 2 ER), Kyle Landis (4 ER), and Bryce Stowell (1 ER) accounted for the earned runs. Thomas Neal went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run, and Adam Abraham contributed a home run.

Frederick 1, Carolina 0
The Mudcats only managed 2 hits, as they were blanked by Kyle Simon and two Keys relievers. Michael Goodnight was the tough-luck loser, allowing just 1 run, even though he allowed 11 base runners on the night.

Lake County 8, Dayton 3
The Captains exploded for 8 runs on 14 hits, though 12 of them were singles. Francisco Lindor went 1-for-5 with 3 runs scored, and six other Captains had two hits. Three Captains pitchers shared the innings almost equally, with Cody Andeson starting and going three innings (no runs), Mason Radeke 3.2innings (3 runs - 1 earned), and Rob Nixon going the last 2.1 innings (0 runs)

Williamsport 3, Mahnoning Valley 2
Luis DeJesus had a fine outing, striking out 8 and allowing just one run in 6 innings. DeJesus had struggled his outings in Lake County, but not in short-season ball. Tyler Naquin went 1-for-4, but struck out three times.

AZL Cubs 6, AZL Indians 4
Luis Morel went 4.2 innings, giving up 1 run, but his replacement, Alexis Paredes, allowed four runs in 2 innings. Dorssys Paulino contributed a triple, and Tyler Booth (2012 Draft, 13th round) went 1-for-5 with a double.
