Cleveland attendance

Evan (tabler84) raises a provocative question in the discussion thread of this morning's post - is Cleveland a viable major-league market. The prompt is Cleveland's, once again, dismal attendance record (currently last in the AL at 14,468 per game, according to B-Ref).

Here is an image showing the Tribe's attendance per game (blue), winning percentage (red), and several other potentially relevant Cleveland sports economy factors.

Unemployment data come from the St. Louis Fed. I don't think the interpretation of these data and events is necessarily straightforward, but the local economy seems to my eyes to be the biggest factor, with other Cleveland sports' draws representing secondary effects.
