The Royals acquired James Shields and Wade Davis from Tampa for top prospects Wil Myers, Mike Montgomery and Jake Odorizzi, as well as 3B Patrick Leonard. I assume Shields and Davis will both be in the Royals 2013 rotation. The AL central just got a lot more interesting—for two years.
From Dayton Moore's perspective, he probably wouldn't have been around KC for longer than that anyways without a significant boost in the W column. -
If you missed it, the Indians signed Mark Reynolds. I hope that Reynolds-Swisher-Santana platoon at 1B comes to fruition.
