  • On Sunday, Clayton Kershaw was named the 2012 winner of the Clemente Award, for his charitable work. Specifically for the strides he made with T.B.A.
  • Major League Baseball is concerned about line drives to the heads of pitchers. Tim McCarver suggested batting helmets for them. Players react to this:
  • Philadelphia pitcher Vance Worley heard that remark and tweeted: "Pitchers....wearing helmets....really?"
    "Helmets for pitchers??? Really," Desmond tweeted.

I don't think most of the pitchers in the league would still be wearing batting helmets after the force it takes to deliver a pitch 90 mph.
