Edinson Volquez wasn't good from the start, and the Indians made sure his outing was a short one. Asdrubal Cabrera hit the first of two home runs in the first inning, and the Indians scored two more on a weird play involving a delayed double steal, a missed tag, and a botched run-down from the catcher. Rather than go into describing it, it's probably best for me to direct you to the video.
Anyway, Volquez avoided further damage by getting Lou Marson to ground out with runners on first and second. He also limited the Tribe second innings runs to one by retiring Travis Buck and Orlando Cabrera with runners on first and third. But by this time Volquez had thrown a lot of pitches, and the Indians were on the verge of blowing the game wide up. When he allowed two more runs in the third, Dusty Baker had enough.
Meanwhile, Carlos Carrasco muddled through, getting fortunate at times when line drives were caught, and allowing a couple solo home runs plus a couple runs in the sixth after the Indians pushed their lead to 7-2. Carrasco allowed four runs in 6+ innings of work.
Asdrubal Cabrera hit his second homer of the day leading off the sixth. He would go 5-for-5, his first career 5-hit game and the first time an Indian went 5-for-5 since LGFT Jhonny Peralta did it three years ago. Michael Brantley contributed 3 singles, and Shin-Soo Choo and Jack Hannahan each reached base three times.
With the victory, the Indians finished off their sixth three-game sweep of the season, and pushed their home record to an amazing 18-4.
