Highest WPA:
Jhonny Peralta .098
Fernando Cabrera .053
Kelly Shoppach .042
Lowest WPA:
Ryan Garko -.206
Andy Marte -.117
Jason Michaels -.109
This one was mainly on the offense. The Indians managed just four hits, three of them singles. Jhonny Peralta's home run accounted for the lone run of the evening. Why does Ryan Garko rank the lowest in WPA? He was at the plate with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of third, and grounded into an inning-ending double play. At the time, the Indians were trailing 1-0.
One bright spot was Fernando Cabrera, who struck out 3 and allowed one hit in two innings of work. Tom Mastny also struck out the one hitter he faced. Does this mean that the two will start making more meaningful appearances in the near future? I certainly hope so. Jason Davis continued to be his usual cryptic self, striking out two yet allowing three hits.
Next Up: The series in Milwaukee concludes with an afternoon game. Jeremy Sowers vs. Dustin Moseley.
