From the PD:
The St. Louis Cardinals interviewed Chris Antonetti on Friday for their vacant general manager's job. Antonetti has been Mark Shapiro's assistant general manager for the last six years.
<snip>
"St. Louis offers a unique situation professionally," said Antonetti. "I would expect they'll reach a resolution, one way or the other, in the near future."
Antonetti's been mentioned in conjunction with just about any GM position the past couple years, and this might be the one that he's been waiting for. Chris would inherit an excellent, if aging, major-league core and Tony La Russa, would have one of the highest payrolls in baseball to work with, and an ownership group that's generally stayed away from baseball decisions. In other words, if he wants to be a GM now, this would be the job to take.
