Cleveland at Oakland, 10:05 PM (STO)
Starting Pitchers:
Cleveland: Fausto Carmona (6.03 ERA, 19)
Oakland: Esteban Loaiza (4.83 ERA, 49)
For Fausto Carmona, the key has been to relax his delivery and not try to add another 2-3 mph to his fastball. If you saw his last start against Minnesota, you'll know what I'm talking about. Fausto would be pitching effortlessly, making hitters pound the ball into the ground, and all of a sudden he'd start overthrowing, messing up his delivery and losing his command. When he'd lose it, Carl Willis and/or Victor Martinez would head to the mound and calm him down. They rinsed and repeated this method over five innings, and it seemed to work. Hopefully with repetition comes consistency for Fausto's delivery.
You'll be excited to know that both Andy Marte and Kevin Kouzmanoff are in the lineup. And the Luna Adventure continues, with Hector impersonating a shortstop tonight.
