Kansas City at Cleveland, 1:05 PM (WKYC)

Starting Pitchers:

Cleveland: Jeremy Sowers
Kansas City: Luke Hudson

All four of Kansas City's starters this series weren't in the organization at the end of last season, and only Hudson attended the Royals' Spring Training.

A little closer to home:

Optioned RHP Jeremy Guthrie to Buffalo (AAA)

Recalled RHP Andrew Brown from Buffalo (AAA)

Thus capping off the last three days' worth of transactions. Brown has been wildly effective as a reliever with the Bisons, something that doesn't bode well for the majors; he's struck out 51 in 60 innings, but has walked 33. When he does throw strikes, he's getting outs: opposing batters are hitting .231/.335/.326 against him.

Guthrie returns to Buffalo, a move that was planned ahead of time. Jeremy couldn't spot his fastball at all in his first MLB start, walking 6 Royals and having to leave the game in the fifth inning.

The Indians are moving Trevor Crowe to second base starting on Tuesday:

Outfielder Trevor Crowe, the Tribe's No. 1 pick in 2005, will start playing second base during Akron's next homestand. He'll play second in the Arizona Fall League, and the Indians will decide if he'll make a position change before next season.

The Indians have a big hole at second base, but even if Crowe makes the switch, it's unlikely he'd compete for the big-league job next year.
