The "other" Santana is a good pitcher in his own right; just 23 years old, Ervin has allowed just 129 hits in 147.1 innings pitched. He was rumored to be going to Washington for Alfonso Soriano, but I doubt Angels GM Bill Stoneman ever seriously considered it, and understandably so.
