Lackey finished third in the AL in strikeouts last season behind Johan Santana and Randy Johnson. He finished 6th in ERA, better than his teammate and Cy Young winner Bartolo Colon. This season, he's allowed just 57 hits in 72.1 innings pitched.
I guess what I'm saying is that Lackey is an extremely underrated pitcher given his age (27), his durability (at least 195 innings the last three seasons), and his improving strikeout and hit rates.
