Cleveland: Cliff Lee (4.46 ERA,69 PRC)
Tampa Bay: Jason Hammel (7.45 ERA, 9 PRC)

So it's come to this. The real season was over long ago, but the scheduled season ends today. There's no one to really say goodbye to other than Aaron Boone; everyone else has said their farewells earlier this season. There's going to be major changes in the makeup of the team between now and February, but we don't really know who's part of those changes.

As mentioned to the right, Jhonny Peralta will not be part of those changes:

In his end-of-the-season meeting last week with General Manager Mark Shapiro and manager Eric Wedge, shortstop Jhonny Peralta heard good things.

"They said don't worry about this year," Peralta said. "They said they have a lot of confidence in me. I'm going to work very hard this winter."

The Indians have finished 2006 strong, winning seven of eight to complete the month of September. Those wins don't mean a whole lot, other than to hurt the Indians' draft status, but it is nice to finish on a positive note.
